Artist Highlight: Booney

For the last half of the decade, he has been making his presence felt on ATL’s thriving music scene by having pure intentions in all his music. Influenced by artists like Jay Z & J Cole, you can walk away from every release more enlightened as he will make sure to look at life through a different lens. With most artists, they truly owe it to themselves to be honest with their listeners about their story and the message they are trying to convey. But with Booney, this never seems to arise with his music as he makes it a prerogative to be transparent about himself and how he sees the world. 

"Lead To Water" is the latest single from Atlanta-based artist, Booney. This standalone single has to be one of my most frequented tracks off the impactful message he’s trying to convey. “Music is universal & one of the best forms of communication, I am inspired by great quotes, so I always intend to leave great quotes for the listener,” Booney explains. Based on his organic approach to music creation, adds to the level of reliability that the average person yearns for while consuming music. So often, the ego gets in the way of the creative process, while Booney has never been afraid to full-fledged confront it.

His newest track illustrates a breakup that's gone bad to the point of no return. Opposed to just drowning in his sorrows, Booney subtly reminds us that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. “‘Lead To Water’ is an emotional track that's based on moving onto better things, embracing change, and the triumph that goes on,” Booney explains. Thankfully, the dark message of this track gets somewhat lost in translation thanks to the upbeat production. It also helps that he utilizes his impressive lyrical ability built around clever metaphors to get his message across. 

Beyond this release, Booney aims to build off of this single with more momentum for Q4. Before the year concludes, he promised to circle back with at least two more singles and to be able to venture off into other mediums of art to best express his creativity.
