Artist Highlight: Carver Jones

Shaped by chaos, camaraderie, and the hum of a crowded group home, a 22-year-old from Omaha channels it all into soulful melodies and vivid storytelling. That artist is Carver Jones—his music raw, honest, and unmistakably his own.

Carver set out on the world three years ago, after piling into a van with his boys at 19—a bold leap that marked the beginning of his artistic journey. His latest single, “American Wasteland,” written in Nashville, explores the pain of vulnerability and the peace that comes with acceptance. Originally titled “Dirty Laundry,” the track is a raw look at the wrinkles of a strained relationship through Carver’s POV.

Drawing notes from blues, funk, rock & soul, Carver blends influences like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Prince into a sound guided more by feeling than genre.

Outside music, he’s an avid thrifter with a style as eclectic as his sound. His advice to other artists:

“It all takes time, and there’s no rush. Some days are high, some are low—find beauty in the middle.”
