Nia Chennai - See It Through

Nia Chennai's song "See it Through" can be described as her elegant manifesto, encapsulating the artist's wavering quest for love, resilience, and spirit. With its poignant lyrics and enchanting melody, "See it Through" delves into the tumultuous journey of finding love and fully immersing oneself in its embrace.

Nia Chennai paints a vivid picture of the challenges and triumphs that come with pursuing a deep connection with another person. Her soulful and evocative vocals breathe life into the lyrics, conveying a sense of conviction and as the song unfolds, it reveals the transformative power of love and the willingness to overcome obstacles in its pursuit–will she see it through though?

Armani Jordan - The Sword Is My Shepherd

DMV-based hip-hop artist Armani Jordan recently released his debut project, “The Sword Is My Shepherd”. After discovering Armani with “Sneak’s Couch Freestyle” in the summer of 2022, I love how he seems more and more confident with each product he puts out. Featuring guest appearances from K$ the KID, JOJANK, & TRAPDOLLAZMANNY, it’s safe to say every feature on here is strategically placed as they bring the best out of Armani without interfering with his message.

One standout track from “The Sword Is My Shepherd” that keeps bringing me back is “Your Brain On Schizophrenia”. He hilariously starts the track off with a viral clip from a Kevin Gates & DJ Akademiks interview where Gates claims to start a car battery with his bare hands. As crazy as it might sound, it fits perfectly with the chaotic theme of the track. The song's lyrics explore the mental struggles that Armani endured throughout his life. I really appreciate the spontaneous voice changes in his verse, as if a completely different artist joins in. This emerging lyricist takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions throughout this track.

Justend - Cigs(demo)

"Cigs (demo)" is the latest offering from Queens, NY artist, Justend. The alternative/indie track showcases a tranquil atmosphere with a guitar-based foreground. Known for his funky appeal, he delivers a trepid ballad that highlights his unique musical style. While many NY artists may lean towards more urban or hip-hop influences, Justend's alternative sound sets him apart. His music provides a contrast to the vibrant and fast-paced energy often associated with the city, offering a more introspective and melodic approach.

The track further demonstrates his artistic versatility and ability to create captivating, emotionally-driven music. The song's tranquil ambiance and guitar-driven instrumentation further establish his distinct sound, making it a compelling addition to his repertoire. Justend's mesmerizing artistry and emotional depth ensure that "Cigs (demo)" is a compelling musical experience that resonates long after the song fades away.

MiLES. - Advantage

Lyrically, "Advantage" delves into the emotional turmoil caused by someone manipulating and exploiting MiLES' feelings. Despite the weight of this burden, the artist maintains a resilient and optimistic outlook, channeling the situation into an empowering anthem. Through the vibrant and infectious ballad, he ponders how to find a silver lining through all this. Flashes of Andre 3000 spring from the track, as he dials in that sort of ol’ ATLiens effect.

MiLES. showcases a fusion of genres, incorporating elements of funk, soul, and pop, resulting in the infectious melody. On the contrast, the tempo, lively arrangement, and energetic vocal delivery contribute to the overall feel-good nature of the track, despite the circumstances. There's an even better video to illustrate the track–be sure to ce=heck that out as well!
