Inside the Soundscape of Avalon's "Scream"

“Scream” is the sophomore single from California cool girl, Avalon. From opening for The Dare to being featured in Interview Mag and Vogue- The dj/musician/model multi-hyphenate has been dominating the LA indie/alt/electronic scene and is an artist I think should be on everyone’s radar.

This track comes from her latest ep “permanent californian” and is one of my favorites from the record. To me, I feel like this song lyrically emulates the feeling of being stuck while also taking you through the ups and downs of anxiety and obsession. You can tell she really cares about the details from every angle of the track as the song feels like a trance pulling you in.

I’ve had “Scream” on loop a lot lately, and it is something I can groove to when I’m feeling happy, sad, lost, confused, or upset. Dynamically this track is captivating with Avalon’s breathy vocals paired alongside the acoustic guitar while it guides you through the rest of the song.
