Kuomo’s Spotify bio describes him as a “level 34 bard.” His discography helps reinforce such a designation by highlighting his immense musical prowess and refreshing approach to music creation. Kuomo, also known as Seth, is a 21-year-old musician from New Jersey. His songs transport listeners to dreamy, immersive soundscapes characterized by authenticity, creativity, emotion, and intention. When asked about some of the most influential points in his musical journey, Kuomo points to some of his earliest experiences and interactions. “My parents met through music, so I grew up playing and learning how to do things because of them,” he says. Kuomo’s passion for music was greatly influenced by his environment and upbringing as well as his personal connection to music.
In addition to crediting his parents for his initial venture into music, Kuomo also makes note of several artists who he views as musical inspirations. Artists like King Krule, Mk.gee, Dijon, Andy Shauf, Vampire Weekend, and The Rippingtons, among several others, influence Kuomo’s approach to making music. Traces of their influence may be found in Kuomo’s music production process, his approach to songwriting, and his performance style. Most notably, Kuomo names The Strokes as his favorite band of all time and describes their influence on his creative process. “I try to write like Julian the most, if he wrote pop songs. It’s never like him, but I try,” he notes. Kuomo’s reflection on his personal experiences listening to music undoubtedly contributes to his ability to conceptualize and create art that aligns with listeners. “I just try to make music that makes me feel like these artists’ music make me feel,” he says. Kuomo places particular emphasis on the overall personal and visceral experience that listeners have when they listen to a track that truly connects with them.

Kuomo’s most recent release, his second album AQUA-VISION, was released in January of this year. Kuomo produced, wrote, performed, and mixed the songs for the album. Composed of nine tracks that span a total of sixteen minutes, AQUA-VISION provides listeners with a glimpse into Kuomo’s dynamic artistic persona. When asked about the creation of AQUA-VISION, Kuomo characterizes it as a sort of antithesis to his first album, Sip Your Tea Slower!, which was released in January of 2025. He remarks, “AQUA-VISION was made to be the opposite of the Sip Your Tea Slower!” As a result, Kuomo’s approach to AQUA-VISION was a stark departure from that of Sip Your Tea Slower! Kuomo described Sip Your Tea Slower! as more conscious, whereas AQUA-VISION was intended to be a more fun, authentic, and personal exploration of Kuomo’s artistic identity. He noted, “This was supposed to be just fun and just be music that I genuinely enjoyed and that felt like my own.”
The inspiration for the album name AQUA-VISION came about one night when Kuomo was hanging out with his best friend, Igor. The first track on the album directly references that night and gives listeners a peek into Kuomo’s creative process. “The first time I said the name out loud was in that first track “AV” which was a phone recording of us just hanging out,” he says. Fun personal snippets like the audio recordings in songs like “AV” and “OH OH” further illustrate Kuomo’s desire to incorporate authenticity into his art as well as his ability to seamlessly integrate disparate, unexpected sounds in novel ways. To achieve the ethereal tones and sounds heard throughout AQUA-VISION, Kuomo mainly utilized his guitar and VSTs. “For AQUA-VISION, it was made all in da box for the most part,” he says. Looking ahead, however, Kuomo notes that his approach to creating his upcoming project will be somewhat different. All of the music for the new record will be made on hardware gear.
Kuomo’s commitment to creating art that authentically reflects his personality and resonates with listeners is also evidenced by the manner in which he describes his interactions with people who have listened to his music. When asked about the most rewarding experiences he’s had thus far as an artist, Kuomo talks about the surreal experience of receiving supportive messages from listeners. He notes, “Most rewarding is just receiving super sweet messages from everyone listening. It’s very surreal, and I appreciate and read all of them.”
Following the stellar release of AQUA-VISION earlier this year, it would only be reasonable to ask what comes next for Kuomo. Eager listeners can rest assured that he is presently working on an upcoming project. Although there’s no concrete release date just yet, Kuomo is planning on releasing a new record within the next couple months.
