Khi Infinite Reaffirms Himself with "Keep Your Head Up"

The 21-year old sensation that is, Khi Infinite, has been within the grasp of musical endeavors for some time, however it took some time for him to answer the call. As he focused on other commitments like sports, dominating the track and fields of Norfolk, VA, he mentioned a piece was missing and that short answer being: family. More centeredness around his family and friends is what he desired and with that, began the musical journey.

Fast forward and we’re presented with his first track of 2022—what’s to be a momentous year for him. “Keep Your Head Up", while one of the more simplistic foregrounds of his, dives into the meaning of why to keep moving forward and what to look forward to. Listening to the lyrics allows the listeners to recognize how similar the strife everyone goes through, is, no matter how tall the task. "No fear, no worries...I know my purpose. No fear, no worries...I know it's worth it", Khi exclaims. It's easy to appreciate his staple sound of which bends the lines between rap and singer/songwriting. He melodically quavers his newfound understanding, as to accept all that has led to this point and manifest what's to come.

With nothing but guitar serving as the rhythm, gracefully done by Eli Menezes, tranquility is at the forefront of the theme, with only a couple chords guiding most of the song. Khi illuminates the track with his voice of solitude. "With this track it's been a lot more growth and understanding as far as where I want to go, and really portraying Khi Infinite to the world.” It's an honest track filled with "affirmations", is the word he chose to emphasize, meant to bring light to the dark.

The wondrous cover art (crafted by Khi's moms and shot by Garrison English) carries a caricature feel however alludes to an all the more realistic scene in New York City. The picture feels like a painting however the video well done by some of Khi's team over at Mad Street Films, revitalizes the realism as he wanders the city. It's fascinating how they turned what is often a hectic city scene into a peaceful exploration, which has accumulated just under 10k views in under a week's time.

"Grinding" is the word of the year(forever) for Khi Infinite as he's been doing all in his power to stay the course—traveling, recording, etc. He mentioned a project in the works titled, MAN ON THE RUN and
